Independent advice, delivered in plain language
Saving Plan Finance exists to help people understand their options properly — then choose the one that actually fits their life.
Born out of a simple frustration
Our founders spent years inside banks and brokerages, watching clients sign documents they had not been given time to understand. Rate comparisons were reduced to a single headline number. Alternatives were mentioned only if the client thought to ask. Nobody seemed to be paid to say “this is not right for you”.
Saving Plan Finance was built as the answer to that. We set out to create a firm where the advice is genuinely independent, the paperwork is explained rather than handed over, and the client’s long-term position matters more than the size of the transaction.
Today our team supports households, professionals and small business owners across Santa Barbara and beyond, handling everything from a first personal loan to retirement planning and business tax structuring.
Who we are
A close team of lending specialists, financial planners, tax advisers and insurance consultants who meet regularly to review client plans together.
Who we serve
First-time buyers, growing families, self-employed professionals, retirees and small business owners who want their finances to make sense.
How we are different
We are not tied to a single lender, insurer or product range. That freedom lets us recommend what is genuinely best rather than what pays us most.
Mission, vision and values
Our mission
To make sound financial guidance accessible, understandable and useful for every household and small business we work with.
Our vision
A community where nobody signs a financial agreement they do not fully understand, and where confidence with money is the norm rather than the exception.
Our values
Honesty over hype, clarity over jargon, and long-term wellbeing over a quick sale. We would rather lose a deal than sell you the wrong one.
What those values look like in practice
We explain before we recommend
Every option comes with the costs, the risks and the alternatives set out in writing. If we cannot explain something simply, we keep working until we can.
We say no when we should
If a loan is unaffordable, an investment too risky or a policy unnecessary, we tell you. Protecting you from a bad decision is part of the service.
We stay after the paperwork
Settlement is not the end. We schedule reviews, answer follow-up questions and adjust your plan as your circumstances change.
We protect your information
Documents are handled securely, shared only with your written consent and never passed to third parties for marketing purposes.
We keep learning
Lending rules, tax treatment and product ranges shift constantly. Our advisers maintain their professional development so the advice stays current.
We treat everyone the same
Whether you are borrowing a modest amount or restructuring a portfolio, you receive the same patience, preparation and honesty.
How a Saving Plan Finance engagement runs
-
Conversation first
We begin by understanding your situation, your goals and anything that worries you about money. Nothing is sold in this meeting.
-
Research across the market
We compare lenders, insurers and product providers against your circumstances, then narrow the field to what genuinely suits you.
-
A written recommendation
You receive a summary of each shortlisted option with its costs, our reasoning and the trade-offs involved — plus time to consider it.
-
Implementation and follow-through
We handle the application, liaise with the provider and keep you informed at each stage until everything is settled.
-
Review and refine
Plans are revisited regularly and whenever life changes, so your arrangements keep matching your reality.
Committed to the community we live in
We are based in Santa Barbara, and most of our clients live and work nearby. That connection matters to us: it means we understand local property prices, local employers and the pressures local families face.
Our advisers regularly take part in community financial literacy sessions, answering questions about budgeting, first-home buying and managing debt. These sessions are free, open to everyone and never used as a sales pitch.
Free literacy sessions
Open community sessions covering budgeting, credit health and buying a first home. Bring your questions — there is nothing to buy.
Small business support
We work closely with local sole traders and small businesses on cash-flow planning, business cover and tax structure.
